I don’t often write critical articles on experiences I have on my travels. usually I just write about fun stories and adventures I have. but I have to post my compliments to the staff of Charlotte International airport.
it’s usually the little things that go unnoticed. not in this case. in the past 4 days I’ve been to this airport twice. and I’ve had two amazing experiences in the restrooms. yes, the restrooms.
the added touch of having a restroom attendant who welcomes you, directs you to an available stall, makes sure everything is nice and clean — which is absolutely was— just makes you feel great. I hadn’t been traveling long, I’d been coming off of hour and a half flights on both occasions but I can imagine how welcoming that might feel to someone who may be on a major travel delay or had just crossed countries/oceans. just having someone to say hi how are you, wishing you happy holidays and safe travels is a priceless touch.
there isn’t really much for an airport to get out of having pleasant staff, it’s not like there’s major competition in the industry. I mean if you have to fly to a destination you generally have very few options in terms of airports. but having a happy traveler never really hurt.
